Software firm Assignar raises $3 million in funding

Last week Sydney based construction software company Assignar successfully managed to raise $3 million dollars of series A funding from venture capital firm Our Innovation Fund. The funding will be used to help the company expand it’s operations and sales eventually into the united states.

A SaaS based solution that allows existing companies such as UGL, Sydney Trains, & Lendlease to provide contractors with digital and mobile forms, timesheet collection, scheduling, document management, communication and real-time tracking.

“Being cloud based means that we can implement new features rather quickly. We’ve learnt a lot from our existing customer base, and we’re committed to improving our platform according to their requirements. This keeps us ahead of many in-house built or older technology solutions. Our customers are ensured they’ll get a platform that is adopted and tested by a large number of contractors. ” – Sean McCreanor, CEO Assignar

While Assignar is keen to expand it’s operations to the US, US construction software companies are also keen to expand into Australia. In April, Procore technologies opened it’s first office in the Asia Pacific region in Sydney citing strong demand for it’s offering.

With construction of infrastructure in Australia experiencing a very strong period of growth their are numerous start-ups here looking to capitalise upon this such as, Propeller, SafetyCulture.
